state fair

this weekend we went to the oklahoma state fair! we had SO much fun! we started off the day with a big yummy breakfast and we went with our friends the jackson's. my sister lexi is also living with us for the school year which is super fun! we love having her here. we loved seeing all the animals and trying so many fun foods. they had the coolest petting zoo with a little kangaroo, a full size llama, pig, donkeys, goats, deer and sheep. maza LOVED it. we visited the birthing center and saw 3 day old baby piggies. i wanted one so bad. we watched a few shows, walked through a car show and tried lots of food. we tried a corndog, corn on a stick, fried cookie dough and ribbon cut potato. YUM, but it's a good thing the fair is just once a year because i'm sure we consumed a million calories.

french braids

maza's hair is long enough to put in braids! i can't believe it. it was super hard to get a good picture, so this is as good as i could get :

swiss days

maza and i were lucky to enough to be able to head out west again at the beginning of september. we visited with the woods for a few days and had a blast with their family and the rest of the utah bradshaws. we then met up with mom taylor and aunt jodi for a weekend of fun in park city and went over to swiss days in midway. maza was a champion shopper and did really well. we had lots of fun.

on saturday we went to the piano guys concert at thanksgiving point.  we picked up my cousin sydney at BYU and headed to the concert. of course it decided to be cold and rain that day and we were sorely unprepared. thankfully maryanne hadn't left yet and she saved the day by bringing us blankets! although is wasn't a beautiful night we still really enjoyed the concert! if you have never listened to the piano guys, you need to. they are so talented and so fun to watch! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfRtPbBFoGg&feature=relmfu

we spent a few more days in utah. we especially loved checking out the new outdoor mall in SLC and visiting temple square. we also visited with the davis family. it was so fun seeing katie and meeting levi!

we headed up to BYU-I next to bring taylor to college! it was so fun visiting grandma and grandpa in IF and getting taylor all set up at school. the campus has changed so much already. it was great being back and so fun walking around. emily and jackson came to visit us and that was so great seeing them and meeting jackson!

family reunion

the end of the july we went on a massive roadtrip. we traveled across oklahoma, kansas, wyoming, colorado and into utah to make it for a week long bradshaw reunion/wedding! the drive was less than enjoyable but we made it and it was worth it! :) we stayed in a beautiful cabin up in midway and had lots of fun swimming, playing tennis, going on walks, participating in a talent/fashion show, playing games and eating lots of great food! we ended the week with jayne and jason's wedding. jayne looked beautiful and the little cousins looked so dang cute in their matching dresses roxanne made! the reception was awesome. it was at the aviary in salt lake and maza loved looking at all the birds! we had a great time dancing the night away, but our plan to leave right after the reception and drive through the night to get back home didn't seem like such a great idea anymore. we stopped like ever 2 hours (rich thinks i didn't even make it an hour when it was my turn) so needless to say we made a lot of stops, but we made it back in time for a good nights rest and for rich to get back to work on monday!

on the porch outside the cabin

such a beautiful view

swimming with grandpa. maza was so happy to be with her cousins jack and evelyn again!

family history walk.

talents show. i'm obsessed with this dress of grandma williams. i would totally wear it all the time!

cute cousins at the reception!

oklahoma

we live in oklahoma--how crazy is that?! we miss pittsburgh. a lot. but we are adjusting to life here just fine. we had a bit of a rough start with the place we were supposed to move into being a complete disaster so rich had to scramble and find a new place for us to live. we now live in a brand new 3rd floor apartment and are very happy to have a dishwasher, disposal, washer & dryer and a pool. the commute is further than our original place so we are still trying to figure out the car situation. but, luckily before maza and i could get too bored we had our first visitors! my grandparents are celebrating their 50th anniversary and going on a cross country church history roadtrip. they came to stay with us for a few days on their way out east! we had so much fun.
maza loves her new apartment.

playing with great grandma and grandpa.

we did some exploring of oklahoma during the visit. this is at the 45th infantry museum close to downtonwn.

at the oklahoma history museum.

at america's only museum of osteology. it was rated #1 on tripadvisor for things to do in OKC. i didn't have very high expectations but it turned out to be really cool!

maza has been very slow in being interested in walking/standing/pulling herself up but just this past week she has been pulling herself up like she's always known how. she especially loves going for the laptop and open toilet.

we had a very relaxing 4th of july with a parade and farmers market in the morning and in the afternoon we hit the pool. maza LOVES the pool and is just so dang cute in her swimsuit, hat and floatie.

happy 4th of july!!

maza's 1st birthday

june has been an eventful month for us. we kicked it up into high gear getting ready for our move at the beginning of the month. for as much preparation as i thought i had done beforehand, it was still a crazy few days as we prepared to move to oklahoma. on june 8th we had one last hurrah with our friends and family in pittsburgh. we packed up the truck(a big shot out to our wonderful friends who helped us move and to roxanne who helped us finish our packing--we couldn't have done it without you!), had a dinner and then a birthday celebration for maza.i can't believe our girl is one! she opened presents all day long, played with her cousins and had her favorite treat ever, icecream sandwiches. maybe not your traditional first birthday, but a good day none the less. happy birthday to our sweet maza girl!
