3 Month Old Zoe

Our little Zoe girl is 3 months old already! 

A few things about 3 month old Zoe:

-- She continues to be such a happy, content baby. She smiles all the time. My favorite thing is every morning when I come into her room to get her and she sees me her face just lights up with the biggest smile. It's a great way to start out your day. 

-- She is a great eater and sleeper. These days she goes down to sleep around 9pm and wakes up once in the early morning to nurse then back to sleep until 9-930 am. I am one lucky mama. 

--She likes to wiggle around on her little activity mat and has started sitting up in her bumbo

--She is following in her sister's footsteps and is proving to be a great traveler. In the last three months we have gone to on trips to Seattle, the Oregon coast, home to California, and a camping trip.

Let real life begin

Zoe is now over a month old...6 weeks old in fact. We have had a great 6 weeks. We have had visits from my Mom, Dad, Taylor, Lexi Halli, Roxanne, Ken, Matt, and even a dinner visit from John, Mar & family. We feel so blessed to have such supportive family who have stayed and helped us during this transition. I could not have done it without you guys. We had Zoe's blessing this weekend. I love having family here. It was a beautiful sunny weekend. Zoe looked like such an angel. The last of our company left this morning and we are officially on our own. 

A few things about Zoe:

-She is such a sweet easygoing baby. 

-She is a cuddle bug. She loves to be held. Her favorite thing is falling asleep on someone's chest. 

-She doesn't sleep much during the day (unless being held) but she is an amazing sleeper at night so I don't complain one bit. She actually slept for 7 hours last night ! Her longest stretch yet. Granted she stayed up until midnight but when I woke up about 630 am I couldn't believe it. 

-She started smiling about a week ago. Every day she smiles more and more and we can't get enough of her smile

- She is a strong little girl and loves to hold up her head and see what is going on all the time

-She is a good eater. I can't believe how much she eats sometimes, especially in the evening

We love our Zoe girl. Can't wait to see her little personality grow and especially to see her and Maza interact more and more. 

Zoe Bradshaw's birth

So I know I am a little behind but we finally put all the pictures on our computer so I am motivated to update our blog. So let me back up to March...

Two days before my due date (3-15) I had a doctors appointment. As he checked me he said I was ready to go anytime and he would induce me tomorrow if I wanted. (So tempting) I decided to give her a few more days and to hopefully make it until my mom came. I was thinking Wednesday would be perfect. My mom would fly in Monday night. We would have Tuesday to go shopping, show her the ropes, enjoy the day together then have the baby the next day. So Zoe was perfectly fine hanging out and never tried to come on her own so we went in for my induction Wednesday morning (3-18-15) 

Short and sweet labor story: 

We checked into the hospital at 7 am. They broke my water. We walked. They started some pitocin. Nothing. Lunchtime they upped my pitocin. Starting to feel contractions. Watched some house hunters.  Contractions getting painful. Ready for epidural. Takes about half hour for anesthesiologist to come. By that point really really ready for epidural. Get epidural.  Feeling awesome. Can feel contractions but no pain. Yahoo. My nurse tells me I can maybe take a nap and she will come check on me. I am feeling lots of pressure so she asks if she can check me. I am dilated to a ten and ready to go not 5 minutes after I got my epidural. My nurse tells me to forget the nap we are going to have a baby. Doctor comes in. Push for 5 minutes. Baby Zoe makes her debut. A perfectly healthy baby girl. 7 pounds 8 oz. born at 3 pm. 

Mom and Maza come and visit. I loved seeing Maza meet Zoe. She was so sweet with her. I feel so blessed and so in love with my little family. 

When will the baby come?

I can't believe it is March already! Time is just flying by. So... we better get this show on the road. We would love you to take guesses on when our baby girl will make her arrival! (you can also guess on her weight, height etc. if you'd like)

So here are the facts: Just like Maza, based on her size at that first ultrasound they pushed back my due date a week to March 15th. At my last appointment I was dilated to a 1. No contractions or anything. I have another appointment this Thursday. My sister Taylor comes home from her mission on March 11th and is speaking in church that Sunday (the 15th) and my Mom is coming on the 16th. This time around I'm actually hoping she won't come early but Mom is convinced she will just because she won't be there. haha.

Maza's last horseback riding class for awhile. She has LOVED it. Best Christmas present ever. 

Last weekend get away up to Salem. We went to a Moroccan restaurant with John & crew. It was soo tasty. :)

For part of Maza's Christmas present we decided to set her up with some horseback riding classes since she just loves horses so much these days. The little classes have been so fun! It is a highlight of her week. She has even made up a game we play at home called horse class where we take turns being the teacher or the student and reenacting her class with her toy horse and little doll. It is very cute. 

Weekend adventure in Portland

Rich had a continuing education course up in Portland the end of January and Maza & I decided to tag along. We had a blast going to the Children's museum/Science museum during the day and exploring the city in the evenings with Rich. We tried a couple local restaurants and went to Powell's books. Maza's favorite parts were sleeping in the hotel, getting chocolate muffins every morning at breakfast, and playing with the pets at the Vet clinic at Children's museum. 

Christmas time in Medford

The Christmas season this year was so magical. Maza is at such a fun age where everything was new and exciting and she really understood for the first time what Christmas was all about. She loved everything about it. Putting up decorations, the music, visiting Santa, the books, baby Jesus, decorating cookies, buying and wrapping presents for others, opening presents, the fact that Santa actually came to our house and brought her presents etc. It was awesome.

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we made the trek down to San Diego. It was our first time doing the drive from Medford. On our way down we decided to break up the drive a bit and visit with Aunt Audrey and Uncle Ron (My Grandma Wirrick's sister) They were so lovely and kind to us. We had a great evening visiting and were back on the road again the following morning. 

We made it in time to help Dad celebrate his birthday! 

We had such a beautiful week for our visit. The weather was unseasonably warm with 70-80 degree days! We even made it to the beach one day. These boys braved the water and spent the afternoon boogie boarding. (Rich got stuck with the smallest of the wetsuits) Haha! :)
